The Green Bay Packers required overtime to defeat the New England Patriots in Week 4. What did we learn from the performance?

A convincing win? Far from it, but the Green Bay Packers will take it.

Bill Belichick’s defense made life difficult for Green Bay’s offense throughout, but the Packers came through in overtime, eventually defeating a New England Patriots team down to their third-string quarterback.

Winning is all that matters, and the Packers now have three consecutive victories, putting them in a good position ahead of their trip to London next week.

What were the biggest takeaways for the Packers in Week 4?

Packers’ offense struggles early, but bounces back

Last week, Green Bay made a red-hot start on offense but fell apart late on. It was almost the reverse against the Patriots.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Rodgers’ first-half passer rating of 11.2 was the lowest in any half of his career as a starter.

While the offense was anything but dominant in the second half, they did score on three of their four possessions, forcing overtime. Rodgers threw two touchdown passes and Green Bay moved the ball well on the ground.

In the end, the rushing attack proved too much for the Patriots’ defense in overtime, leading the team into Mason Crosby’s range for the game-winning kick.
