Packers injury report Week 5: Jaire Alexander update
Jaire Alexander practiced on Wednesday, which is potentially a good sign for his availability in the Green Bay Packers’ game against the New York Giants across the pond.
The Green Bay Packers head to London on Thursday evening. Before then, they practiced on Wednesday and released their first Week 5 injury report.
Both the Packers and New York Giants are dealing with multiple injuries ahead of their matchup in London.
But the good news for Green Bay is that only one player didn’t practice on Wednesday.
Packers Week 5 injury report: Jaire Alexander practices
Let’s start with the good news: Jaire Alexander practiced on Wednesday. Per the injury report, he was limited.
Does that mean he’ll be ready to go in Week 5? Not necessarily, but it’s good to see he was out there on the practice field.
The only Packer not to practice was safety Adrian Amos, who has a concussion. Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette noted that he was stretching on the sideline, which he called “a promising sign”.
Left tackle David Bakhtiari has now played in back-to-back weeks. He remains on the injury report, but he did practice as a limited participant on Wednesday. Right tackle Elgton Jenkins was also limited.
Wide receiver Allen Lazard was limited on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, but that has been the case the past three weeks, and Lazard played in each.
Center Josh Myers has a foot issue, defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt a quadricep injury, and safety Tariq Carpenter an abdomen issue. All three were limited on Wednesday.
Fourteen players are on the Giants’ injury report. Among them are quarterback Daniel Jones, quarterback Tyrod Taylor, defensive lineman Leonard Williams, and wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Giants receiver Kenny Golladay isn’t expected to travel to London due to injury.
