What has happened to the Green Bay Packers?

In the blink of an eye, they have gone from a regular-season winning machine under head coach Matt LaFleur, to not being able to do seemingly anything on either side of the ball.

Sunday’s 17-point home defeat to the New York Jets ensured the Packers lost back-to-back regular season games for the first time under LaFleur. It also comes as no surprise given the way the Packers have been playing in recent weeks.

Up next is a three-game road stretch. If LaFleur is going to stop this season from completely falling apart, he needs to fix a few things immediately.

1. Get Aaron Jones the football

LaFleur keeps saying Aaron Jones needs more carries. Yet every week, Jones is an afterthought, prompting LaFleur to again say more touches are required for the Packers’ top playmaker.

The offensive line’s blocking issues led to some runs being stopped before the line of scrimmage, including times when Jones had the ball.

But with the offense struggling, the Packers got the ball to Jones only 12 times against the Jets. It’s simply unacceptable.

Jones is the Packers’ most explosive offensive player. He can create a spark on one play. The former Pro Bowler is averaging 5.8 yards per carry this season.

Get him the football. If the Packers are to have any shot at creating some consistency on offense, it needs to start with Aaron Jones.
