Chase Claypool, Pittsburgh Steelers

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, general managers he has spoken with are “certain Green Bay is looking for potential receiver help on the trade market.” Fowler would name Chase Claypool as a potential target for the Packers.

And it could make a lot of sense.

It’s possible Claypool could be the WR3 in Pittsburgh with Diontae Johnson and rookie George Pickens ahead of him. In Green Bay, he could become one of Aaron Rodgers’ top targets.

Claypool’s production has declined, but he reminded the world how talented he is last week, catching seven passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers’ win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Claypool checks a lot of boxes for what the Packers look for at wide receiver.

He has great size at 6-foot-4, 238 pounds, and is an excellent athlete, earning a Relative Athletic Score of 9.98 out of 10 before he was drafted in 2020.

Claypool can win contested catches and could become a reliable target for the Packers.

Out of contract at the end of the 2023 season, the Steelers may be willing to move on, especially with Johnson and Pickens as their top two receivers moving forward.

Claypool to Green Bay would make a lot of sense.
