Are the Packers finished?

Even when the Packers were winning games, they were anything but convincing. Green Bay only scored 14 points in a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and needed overtime to defeat the New England Patriots with a third-string quarterback.

Matt LaFleur’s team has now lost three games in a row and enters Week 8 with a losing record.

They now enter a brutal five-game stretch, starting with a road game against the Buffalo Bills, arguably the NFL’s most complete team. You could give the Packers’ offense eight quarters, and they still might not be able to outscore the Bills in four.

Lose next week, and it will be four straight defeats, leaving the Packers 3-5.

They then meet the Detroit Lions on the road, the Dallas Cowboys at home, the Tennessee Titans at home, and the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on the road. Based on the way they are currently playing, the Packers might be lucky to get one win in this upcoming stretch.

Of course, things can change quickly. The Packers lost four in a row in 2016 and had a 4-6 record. They then won eight games in a row, including the playoffs.

But a favorable schedule helped Green Bay get back on track that year. The same isn’t true in 2022.
