The NFL’s trade deadline has come and gone. As usual, the Green Bay Packers sat back and watched without making a move.

That doesn’t mean they weren’t actively looking for a deal, and they deserve some credit for not overspending for the sake of it.

However, the fact remains that Green Bay’s roster needs some help. With the trade deadline gone, one of the best ways to strengthen the team is now no longer available.

Jeffri Chadiha of NFL.com listed some of the winners and losers from the trade deadline. Understandably, he listed Aaron Rodgers as the biggest loser.

He called the Packers “mystifying” for their lack of moves. Again, understandable.

Green Bay failed to do enough on offense in the offseason after trading away Davante Adams. The concern at wide receiver is nothing new. There were opportunities at the trade deadline but, again, they failed to make something happen.

“The Packers’ receiving corps is both banged up and unreliable. Good luck turning things around with that combination,” wrote Chadiha.

It’s the harsh reality.

And not just the receiving corps, either.

There are still major question marks over the offensive line. David Bakhtiari has got back to his dominant All-Pro best, but he is not guaranteed to play every week.

Elgton Jenkins is still trying to rediscover his Pro Bowl form after returning from a major injury.

Josh Myers has played well this season, while Zach Tom has been solid outside of a rough first quarter against the Buffalo Bills.

However, with constant reshuffles due to injury, this group has been far too inconsistent. Linemen like Royce Newman and Jake Hanson have struggled, while Jon Runyan Jr. hasn’t been at his best.

And there’s no doubt the Packers could do with a top pass-catcher.

Christian Watson can make an impact when healthy. Romeo Doubs has the potential to become an excellent player, but he would be best suited in a WR3 role similar to Davante Adams’ rookie year.

Allen Lazard is a solid complementary receiver, while Randall Cobb has good chemistry with Aaron Rodgers.

But the Packers lack a true WR1. That has been the case ever since Davante Adams departed. The Packers still haven’t gotten Aaron Rodgers the help he needs.
