The Green Bay Packers have hit rock bottom.

Forget about the playoffs. Forget about Aaron Rodgers’ championship window. Green Bay’s offense put in its most embarrassing showing of the season, and the Packers have lost their fifth consecutive game.

Up against the league’s worst-ranked defense, Green Bay could only manage nine points.

Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers threw just one touchdown pass with three interceptions, including two in the red zone.

The Packers were hit with multiple injuries to starters, including Aaron Jones, Romeo Doubs, and Rashan Gary, but there is no excuse.

Green Bay didn’t look like a team fighting to save its season. Unlike last week, when the team showed heart in a defeat to the Buffalo Bills, the Packers reverted back to form against the Detroit Lions and got what they deserved.

A lack of commitment to the run, Aaron Rodgers playing hero ball, penalties, and mental errors. The same issues this team has faced all season continued on Sunday afternoon.

Green Bay hasn’t won since its overtime victory over the New England Patriots in Week 4. It is the first time the Packers have lost five in a row since Rodgers’ first year as a starter.

Any hope of a playoff berth will require winning almost every game remaining on the schedule. They will be lucky to outscore an opponent in one quarter the rest of the way.

Up next? Mike McCarthy returns to Lambeau Field with the Dallas Cowboys. He must be excited about the opportunity to return to his former home and defeat the Packers.

Green Bay looks like a team ready to pick inside the top 10 of the draft, nowhere near the playoffs.

The Packers have hit rock bottom, and it sure looks like their season is over. It would require a miracle to get back into contention in the second half of the year.
