It doesn’t get much worse than this. The Green Bay Packers hit rock bottom last week against the Detroit Lions, their fifth straight loss.

After showing some promise in their performance against the Buffalo Bills, the Packers fell back into the same mistakes that had cost them earlier in the season.

Yet again, the offense gets a poor grade. Let’s get started.

Packers offense: F

Is this the worst offense in football?

It can’t be far off.

Moving the ball wasn’t an issue against the league’s worst-ranked defense, but converting yards into points was. Green Bay had 389 total yards, converted eight of 15 third downs, and only punted once.

But that counts for nothing if you can’t convert in the red zone. Green Bay failed on all four red-zone trips and Aaron Rodgers was intercepted on two of them. He threw three picks in total and the Packers managed just nine points.

Not good enough. Not even close.

Packers defense: B+

This loss isn’t on the defense.

They allowed 254 total yards, forced a turnover, and held the Lions to just 15 points. Jared Goff only had 137 passing yards, while the Lions averaged just 3.8 yards per carry.

The Packers would’ve taken that before the game. When the defense achieves those numbers, Green Bay has to win.

Packers special teams: C

Not a whole lot to say about the special teams.

Pat O’Donnell only punted once, a 31-yarder that pinned Detroit within its own 20-yard line, while Mason Crosby hit his only field goal from 25 yards. Keisean Nixon had a 33-yard kick return.

Jaire Alexander looked to have blocked a field goal but replays showed he didn’t actually touch the ball and a flag was thrown as he hit the kicker. Still, it was close to being an outstanding special teams play.

Overall, a solid effort on special teams.
