Packers: Aaron Jones has dominated Cowboys in two career games
Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has dominated the Dallas Cowboys in two career matchups.
To have a shot at defeating the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, the Green Bay Packers will need a big game from star running back Aaron Jones.
If the Packers are going to move the ball offensively, they need to win the matchup on the ground against the Cowboys’ 24th-ranked run defense. Dallas is far stronger defending the pass, ranking fourth in pass defense.
To pull off the upset, the Packers need to lean on Aaron Jones.
When the Packers have given Jones opportunities this season, good things have happened. He has rushed 107 times for 600 yards and a touchdown, and he also has made 32 receptions for 210 yards and three touchdowns.
Jones is averaging a career-best 5.6 yards per carry. He is the key player for Green Bay on Sunday.
And Jones knows what it takes to find success against the Cowboys. He put in dominant performances in both of his previous career meetings against Dallas.
In just two career games against the Cowboys, Jones has rushed 38 times for 232 yards and five touchdowns and made eight catches for 84 yards.
That’s 46 total touches for 316 yards and five touchdowns. In only two games.
Jones’ first career start came against the Cowboys in 2017. Following injuries to Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, Jones came off the bench and impressed against the Chicago Bears the week prior.
With an opportunity to start against the Cowboys, Jones rushed 19 times for 125 yards and a touchdown, a breakout performance for the rookie running back.
His second game against Dallas was even better. It came in 2019, Matt LaFleur’s first season as head coach. Jones had 19 carries for 107 yards and four touchdowns, along with seven catches for 75 yards.
If the Packers are to get the win on Sunday, they need another big performance from Jones against the Cowboys.
