Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Amari Rodgers has found a new team.

Things didn’t work out for Amari Rodgers during his time with the Green Bay Packers, but a fresh start may be all he needs to reach his potential in the NFL.

And he now gets that opportunity with a new team.

According to ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime, the Houston Texans have claimed Rodgers on waivers. They had the top priority in the league.

It’s unclear at this stage how many teams submitted a waiver claim, but as the Texans had top priority, that’s where Rodgers will go.

Despite Rodgers being released in only his second season with the Packers, it doesn’t mean he can’t be successful elsewhere. Rodgers was a third-round pick only last year, and the Packers traded up to get him.

Rodgers showed some potential on offense, although his main role in Green Bay came on punt returns.

The former Clemson wide receiver struggled returning punts, both this and last season. Crucially, he fumbled too often.

Rodgers has fumbled five times this season, including in last week’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

But if the Texans can find a role for Rodgers on offense, he can become a good player for them. He is best suited to playing in the slot, where he can get the ball in space and pick up yards after the catch.

One thing is for sure: Packers fans everywhere will be wishing Rodgers all the best with the Texans. It didn’t work out in Green Bay, but he was a fan favorite.

Good luck to Rodgers with the Texans!
