Randall Cobb impresses on return from injury

When Aaron Rodgers needs to make a play, he often looks in the direction of his most trusted target. That would be Randall Cobb, who made his return from injury on Thursday night.

And the veteran wide receiver picked up where he left off earlier in the season, leading the Packers in receiving.

Cobb caught six passes for 73 yards, averaging a healthy 12.2 yards per reception. He had a long of 28 yards.

The former Pro Bowler has great chemistry with Rodgers, something the younger wide receivers are trying to build. And it showed.

Cobb and cornerback Keisean Nixon replaced Amari Rodgers on punt returns.

Not much has gone right for the Packers’ offense this season, but Cobb has been one of the team’s most reliable pass catchers. In seven games, he has caught 24 passes for 330 yards, averaging 13.8 yards per reception.

If the Packers are to pull off a miracle and turn this season around, the Rodgers-to-Cobb connection will be crucial. He is always in the right place at the right time, has great chemistry with Rodgers, and is often there on key third downs to make a catch.

Cobb put in a strong performance in his return from injury on Thursday night.
