If the season ended now, the Green Bay Packers would hold the 12th selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, according to Tankathon.

By the end of the weekend, that pick could be even higher.

The Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Rams all hold a 3-6 record.

Victory for any of those teams would move them ahead of the Packers, who sit with a 4-7 record after their defeat to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football.

Detroit visits the New York Giants, Pittsburgh hosts the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland takes on the Buffalo Bills, and Los Angeles plays against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.

For the first time in years, the Packers face a real possibility of picking inside the top 10 of the draft. They have lost seven of their opening 11 games in the regular season and face matchups with the Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings in their final six. Two of those games are on the road.

Their other games are against the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Detroit Lions.

Let’s be generous and give the Packers three wins from their final six, giving them a record of 7-10.

In this year’s draft, three top-10 picks went to teams with 7-10 records.

The Atlanta Falcons finished 7-10 and owned the eighth overall pick. The Seattle Seahawks owned the Denver Broncos’ first-round pick. The Broncos went 7-10, giving Seattle the ninth overall pick. The New York Jets had the Seahawks’ pick — Seattle also went 7-10, resulting in the 10th overall selection.

What if the Packers only win two of their remaining six?

Last year, a 6-11 record was good for the seventh overall selection.

The Packers could end up with a top-10 pick, which would be one of the few positives to come from this season. The last time they picked that high was in 2009, when they selected B.J. Raji.
