You have to laugh at this point. Sixteen players are on the Green Bay Packers‘ injury report for Week 12.
Sixteen.
How many players are on the Philadelphia Eagles’ injury report, you ask? Oh, just one.
The Packers face one of their toughest tests in a difficult season when they visit the Eagles on Sunday Night Football. To make it even more challenging, the Eagles are close to full strength, while the Packers will likely be without multiple players.
Packers: Week 12 injury report doesn’t look great
Even after a mini-bye, the Packers are still dealing with several injuries.
But let’s start with the good news. Three players on the injury report were full participants at practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign for their availability this week.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin), kicker Mason Crosby (illness), and inside linebacker Quay Walker (shoulder), all practiced in full today.
Six players were limited at practice.
Inside linebacker Krys Barnes (hand), wide receiver Randall Cobb (illness), cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles (ankle), running back Aaron Jones (shin/glute), wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder), and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (thumb) were limited.
Rodgers told reporters on Wednesday that he is dealing with a broken thumb.
Seven players didn’t practice on Wednesday.
Left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee), inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell (knee), safety Tariq Carpenter (illness), wide receiver Romeo Doubs (ankle), safety Rudy Ford (illness), guard/tackle Elgton Jenkins (knee), and tackle Rasheed Walker (illness) didn’t practice.
Bakhtiari and Jenkins not practicing isn’t surprising. The Packers have given them practices off throughout the season as they come back from significant injuries. We will get a better idea later in the week whether they are likely to play on Sunday night.
Hopefully, the Packers will get more players back at practice on Thursday. Green Bay will need as many starters as possible available this week in a key game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
