The Green Bay Packers are on their bye in Week 14. When they return, they will host the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.

It will be the third consecutive season Green Bay has played Los Angeles at Lambeau Field, and it could be the third different quarterback to play for the visiting team.

Two years ago, Jared Goff led the Rams’ offense into Lambeau. Last season, it was Matthew Stafford.

Now, it could be Baker Mayfield.

On Tuesday, the Rams claimed Mayfield on waivers after he had been released by the Carolina Panthers. The Rams needed a quarterback as Stafford could miss the remainder of the season.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Mayfield “won’t be ready to play” in the Rams’ Thursday night matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

That means Mayfield could make his Rams debut at Lambeau Field in Week 15.

The Packers have only played against Mayfield once in his career, a Christmas Day matchup at Lambeau Field last season.

Green Bay defeated the Cleveland Browns, 24-22, and Mayfield had a night to forget.

Despite throwing two touchdown passes, Mayfield was also intercepted four times and sacked five times. Two of the interceptions went to Rasul Douglas, including a game-winner with less than a minute remaining in regulation.

It was a crucial play from Douglas as Mayfield had the opportunity to lead the Browns on a game-winning drive.

The Packers will be hoping Mayfield puts in a similar performance if he starts in Week 15. It won’t be easy to learn a new playbook and build chemistry with wide receivers quickly, so there could be opportunities for Joe Barry’s defense to create some turnovers.

The Packers are on their bye and don’t play until Monday Night Football in Week 15. In a matchup against the Rams, the Packers will have an opportunity to pick up rare back-to-back wins.
