The Green Bay Packers have an excellent recent record against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Green Bay Packers must get their third straight victory over the Los Angeles Rams to keep their season alive on Monday Night Football.
But there’s reason for some optimism.
Not only are the Rams 4-9 this season, but Green Bay also has a strong recent record against their Week 15 opponents.
In fact, Green Bay has won seven of its past eight games against the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams.
Green Bay Packers’ past five games vs. Los Angeles Rams
- November 28, 2021: Green Bay 36, Los Angeles 28 (Lambeau Field)
- January 16, 2021: Green Bay 32, Los Angeles 18 (Lambeau Field) – playoffs
- October 28, 2018: Los Angeles 29, Green Bay 27 (Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum)
- October 11, 2015: Green Bay 24, St. Louis 10 (Lambeau Field)
- October 21, 2012: Green Bay 30, St. Louis 20 (Edward Jones Dome)
The Packers have defeated the Rams in their past four meetings at Lambeau Field. The Rams’ most recent road win at Lambeau came in 2006, a 23-20 victory.
As the Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay is 1-2 against the Packers. His only victory came in 2018, a 29-17 win best remembered for Ty Montgomery’s fumble on a kick return late in the fourth quarter.
But McVay is 0-2 in meetings against his former offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur.
LaFleur’s Packers ended the Rams’ season in the divisional round of the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, then Green Bay won convincingly against Los Angeles last year. But the Rams would go on to win the Super Bowl.
The Packers welcome the defending Super Bowl champions to Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football, knowing only a victory will do. Green Bay must run the table and get some help to earn a surprise wild-card berth.
Three of Green Bay’s remaining four games will be played at Lambeau Field, starting this week against the Rams. Can the Packers make it three straight victories over Sean McVay’s team?
