3 reasons why Packers will beat Lions in Week 18 playoff decider
2. Lions are far better at home than on the road
This game will be played at a cold Lambeau Field, and that is pretty significant.
As we saw last week, the Minnesota Vikings struggled in wintery Lambeau conditions. Like the Vikings, the Lions play their home game indoors.
Detroit has been excellent at home this season, but not as efficient away from Ford Field.
The Lions are averaging an impressive 33.1 points per game at home, but just 19.3 points on the road.
Jared Goff’s numbers are significantly worse on the road. In home games, he has thrown for 2,472 yards, 23 touchdowns, and three interceptions, with a passer rating of 109.3.
On the road, he has thrown for 1,742 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions, with a passer rating of 87.6.
This will be a far greater test for the Lions on the road than the game at Ford Field. The Packers are comfortable in the conditions and haven’t lost a home regular-season game in December or January since 2018.
There is also the primetime factor. This is the Lions’ first primetime game of the year, and they will be playing in a loud Lambeau Field with a playoff atmosphere.
With the game being played in Green Bay, it’s advantage to the Packers. The conditions will be completely different from Week 9.
