3 best prop bets for Packers vs. Lions in Week 18 matchup
The Green Bay Packers aim to stretch their winning run to five games this week.
Doing so would secure a wild-card berth, sending the Packers to the postseason for the fourth consecutive year. When they were 4-8, this looked most unlikely.
Ahead of this must-win matchup against the Detroit Lions, here are the three best prop bets.
Best Packers prop bets vs. Lions in Week 18
Aaron Jones prop bet:
- OVER 58.5 rushing yards (-114)
The Lions’ run defense ranks fourth-worst in the NFL. Over the past two weeks, they have allowed 520 rushing yards and three touchdowns from 65 attempts, which is an average of 8.0 yards per attempt.
Aaron Jones is coming off a 111-yard performance against the Minnesota Vikings. In another must-win game, the Packers will lean on Jones against a struggling Lions run defense.
Aaron Rodgers prop bet:
- UNDER 251.5 passing yards (-114)
Aaron Rodgers has only thrown for 252 or more yards in a game twice this season. The last time was in the Week 9 loss to the Lions.
While the matchup is great against Detroit’s defense, this could be a game where Green Bay leans heavily on its rushing attack. Add in Keisean Nixon’s ability to create a short field from kick returns, and it’s possible Rodgers throws for fewer than 252 passing yards.
AJ Dillon prop bet:
- Anytime touchdown scorer (-210)
AJ Dillon can’t stop scoring touchdowns. When the Packers get to the red zone, they like to give the ball to their powerful running back.
Dillon has at least one rushing touchdown in his past five games, including two in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.
You have to go back to November to find the last time Dillon didn’t score a touchdown in a game.
In cold Lambeau Field conditions, the Packers will need to lean on their rushing attack again, which could lead to opportunities for Dillon to score.
