Round 2 (45): Rashee Rice, WR, SMU

Following the first round, the Packers would have a ton of young talent to build around on offense.

Green Bay would have Jordan Love, Bijan Robinson, Paris Johnson, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs all starting. That could be a lot of fun.

Now let’s add another talented wide receiver to the mix.

I was delighted to see Rashee Rice still on the board in the second round on the mock draft simulator.

A first-team All-AAC, Rice is coming off an excellent season at SMU. He caught 96 passes for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Rice is a physical receiver and has good size at 6-foot-3, 203 pounds. He could quickly become a reliable target for Jordan Love.

Christian Watson forces defenses to respect his speed and ability to go deep, creating more opportunities underneath, which is where Rice could shine in Green Bay’s offense.

Rice is strong after the catch and is a good blocker, which would go a long way to getting snaps early in his career.

Green Bay may need to continue adding to the wide receiver room this offseason, as Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are free agents. The Packers released Amari Rodgers during the season, and they also moved on from Sammy Watkins.

A trio of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Rashee Rice could be a lot of fun.
