Packers seven-round 2023 mock draft: Trading back edition
Round 4 (115): Rakim Jarrett, WR, Maryland
The wait is over for the Packers at wide receiver in this 2023 NFL mock draft. It doesn’t feel like they’d be opposed to looking here earlier, even in the first round, but value must present itself. It does here for Green Bay in Maryland wide receiver Rakim Jarrett.
Jarrett’s production doesn’t jump off the page, but his skill set should for Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur. His speed pops when you watch him play, and he has the ability to create separation with both speed and quicks from the slot or the perimeter. Jarrett also can contribute post-catch.
Round 5 (149): Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane
Don’t rule out the possibility of needing a bit more in the running back room. If Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon are your duo in 2023, that’s excellent. But, let’s shore things up with an extremely strong RB3 in Tyjae Spears, who has impressive vision, lateral cut displacement, and the long speed to rack up explosive plays.
Round 5 (170): Moro Ojomo, DL, Texas
There will be a lot of expectations for Devonte Wyatt to make the jump in 2023. Him and Kenny Clark will be the defensive ends in the five-man front, with T.J. Slaton potentially anchoring the middle. Still, adding depth to the room is a good idea. Moro Ojomo has continued to grow in his time at Texas. He’s powerful at the point of attack to shed blocks in the run game, and offers some juice as a pass rusher too.
