Packers trade

Now we’re talking. Wide receiver would no longer be a need for the Packers after this trade.

If Green Bay goes all-in for another season with Aaron Rodgers, it needs to make a significant move to help the team take the next step.

Tom Brady announced his retirement on Wednesday, slamming shut the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl window. According to Over The Cap, the Buccaneers have -$55.03 million in cap space. They desperately need to create cap space with a long rebuild ahead.

According to Spotrac, Mike Evans has a cap hit of $21.4 million in 2023, one of the Buccaneers’ highest. He is entering the final year of his contract.

Evans is entering his age-30 season. The Buccaneers are set for a rebuild, so putting Evans on the trade block could make sense.

And what an addition he would be for a win-now Packers team. Evans is a four-time Pro Bowler and has put up over 1,000 yards in all nine seasons he’s played.

Don’t worry about building a connection with Rodgers. Evans instantly became a go-to target for Tom Brady, helping them win the Super Bowl in 2020.

In three seasons catching passes from Brady, Evans made 221 receptions for 3,165 yards and 33 touchdowns.

A receiving trio of Mike Evans, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs, with Dalton Kincaid at tight end? Yeah, good luck stopping them.
