Round 3 (78): Dawand Jones, T, Ohio State

Ohio State’s Dawand Jones is a name to watch in the coming weeks. He could quickly fly up draft boards and not make it this far.

Jones has been dominant at the Senior Bowl this week. Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus tweeted that “Dawand Jones had as dominant a day in 1-on-1’s as you’ll ever see” following Tuesday’s Senior Bowl practice.

Jones measured at 6-foot-8, 359 pounds at the Senior Bowl and he is a powerful tackle.

If Aaron Rodgers is back in 2023, we can assume David Bakhtiari will also remain in Green Bay. But it’s unclear who will start at right tackle.

Yosh Nijman is a restricted free agent. Zach Tom can play there, but he can also line up at guard and center.

Dawand Jones could be an early starter for the Packers. With his size and strength, Jones could dominate in the run game.

The Packers should look to upgrade the offensive line at some point in the 2023 NFL Draft, regardless of who is playing quarterback.

If Jones is there in the third round, he would be a great choice. Jones can become a long-term starter in the NFL and could step in at right tackle immediately in 2023.
