Aaron Rodgers

First, Aaron Rodgers must decide if he wants to play in 2023. If yes, this becomes a real possibility.

“League sources believe the franchise prefers to move on from Rodgers,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter last week.

That was a significant update from Schefter. It suggests the Packers are prepared to move on from the four-time MVP.

So if Rodgers wants to keep playing, it seems a trade is entirely possible.

Rodgers can still play at a high level. Much like when Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and immediately won a Super Bowl, Rodgers should look for the best win-now destination.

And there could be multiple.

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins may need new quarterbacks. They have great rosters. Add Rodgers to either team, and they become contenders in the AFC.

How about reuniting with Davante Adams in a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders? Rodgers would be throwing to Adams, Darren Waller, and Hunter Renfrow.

A Rodgers trade could be the best solution for everyone.

Without much cap space, the Packers are limited in what they can do. They weren’t good enough this season, going 8-9. With a trade, Rodgers can push for a Super Bowl while Green Bay gets to rebuild.
