Retirement or a trade is possible for Aaron Rodgers, but what if he returns to Green Bay? That’s another possibility.

Rodgers returning for another season with the Packers would leave Jordan Love in a tough spot. He would enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2024. Would the Packers pick up his fifth-year option?

Love would have every right to request a trade. He has patiently waited for three seasons to get an opportunity. He performed well against the Philadelphia Eagles when he stepped in for an injured Rodgers.

Sooner or later, he will want an opportunity to start. If Green Bay can’t offer that, a move elsewhere would make sense.

Of course, the Packers could keep Rodgers and refuse to trade Love.

But it does feel like this could be a decision between the two. If Rodgers stays, the Packers should trade Love. If they want to move forward with Love, they should trade Rodgers.

Each year, it seems far more challenging to keep both quarterbacks on the roster.

Jordan Love might be the future in Green Bay. But if the team goes for the short-term move of keeping Aaron Rodgers, it might be time to trade Love elsewhere.
