Rashan Gary, Jordan Love, and AJ Dillon are among the Green Bay Packers‘ unrestricted free agents a year from now.
While the Packers’ focus will soon shift to their upcoming free agents, they will also have an eye on the future.
Below is a list of the team’s upcoming unrestricted free agents in the 2024 offseason, according to Over The Cap:
An early look at Green Bay Packers’ 2024 free agents
- EDGE Rashan Gary
- QB Jordan Love
- RB AJ Dillon
- S Darnell Savage
- OL Jon Runyan Jr.
- TE Josiah Deguara
- EDGE Jonathan Garvin
- P Pat O’Donnell
- RB Patrick Taylor
Some big decisions to make there.
Rashan Gary is a star edge rusher and it should only be a matter of time before he lands a big new contract from the Packers. Gary is recovering from a season-ending injury, but it will come as no surprise if the Packers work out a new deal with him during the 2023 season.
Green Bay has often re-signed upcoming free agents many months before their contract expires. Elgton Jenkins signed a new four-year deal last December, for example.
Gary and Darnell Savage will play on the fifth-year option in 2023. It means both are set to become unrestricted free agents next offseason.
The Packers must decide this offseason whether to pick up Jordan Love’s fifth-year option. Doing so would ensure he remains under contract through the 2024 season, so he wouldn’t become an unrestricted free agent until 2025.
Green Bay’s decision on the fifth-year option could be a sign of their confidence in Love’s ability to take over as QB1 in the near future.
Will AJ Dillon land a second contract from the Packers? That’s another big decision to be made over the next year or so.
Jon Runyan Jr. has been a solid starter in recent years. If he has another good season in 2023, it will go a long way to landing a new deal.
