1. Dean Lowry, DT

The Packers stuck with Dean Lowry for about three years too long. Even when he was struggling this season, they kept him on the field over rookie Devonte Wyatt far too often.

Coming off a career year in 2021, the hope was Lowry would continue to provide solid play up front on defense.

But Lowry offered next to nothing as a pass rusher, providing 0.5 sacks and five quarterback hits.

According to Pro Football Reference, Lowry had just six pressures, four quarterback knockdowns, and one hurry.

Lowry has provided solid play along the defensive line over seven seasons, featuring in 111 games with 80 starts. However, the Packers have also needed to improve their defensive line seemingly every offseason for the past few years.

Green Bay has an excellent starter in Kenny Clark, while Devonte Wyatt showed a ton of potential in year one. Like at tight end, the Packers should force themselves to improve at the position by moving on from Lowry.

The defensive line has been underperforming for far too long. Making more changes in the draft and free agency is required.

Dean Lowry has been a solid starter for many years, but it’s time for Green Bay to move on this offseason.
