Two former Packers could be Hall-of-Famers in 2024
Two former Green Bay Packers players could soon be Hall-of-Famers.
Following the announcement of which players will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted a list of notable names who will be eligible for the first time in 2024.
That list included two former Packers.
Jordy Nelson and Julius Peppers both retired following the 2018 NFL season after incredible careers.
Nelson spent almost his entire NFL career with the Packers, outside of the 2018 season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Peppers was only in Green Bay for three seasons later in his career, but he made a huge impact during his time there.
Jordy Nelson will be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame later this year, a well-deserved honor for an all-time great.
Will the Pro Football Hall of Fame come next?
Nelson played 10 seasons in the league, catching 613 passes for 8,587 yards and 72 touchdowns. In the playoffs, he made 54 receptions for 668 yards and five touchdowns.
He helped the Packers win Super Bowl XLV, catching nine passes for 140 yards and a touchdown in the victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nelson saved his best career playoff performance for the Super Bowl.
He ranks sixth all-time in Packers franchise history for receiving yards, fourth in receptions, and third in receiving touchdowns.
Nelson finished his career as a former All-Pro, Pro Bowler, Super Bowl champion, the 2016 NFL receiving touchdowns leader, the 2016 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and now a Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer.
Peppers played 17 seasons in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay Packers.
During his three-year stay in Green Bay, Peppers made 25 sacks and 45 quarterback hits, and he was a Pro Bowler in 2015.
Peppers had a Hall-of-Fame career, making 159.5 sacks, fourth-most in NFL history. He was a six-time All-Pro, a nine-time Pro Bowler, and was part of both the 2000s and 2010s NFL All-Decade Teams.
A truly incredible career. Peppers only played in Green Bay for three seasons but produced some incredible memories.
