Seattle Sea Dragons

The Seattle Sea Dragons have four players that have spent various periods with the Green Bay Packers, including OL Michal Menet, K Dominik Eberle, DL Treyvon Hester, and OT Ryan Pope.

Menet, who was drafted in the seventh round by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2021 NFL Draft, signed with the Packers in December 2021 following his release from the Cardinals. Menet then signed a futures deal with the team and was waived during training camp in 2022. Although he was signed back to the practice squad later in the season, he did not sign a futures deal for the upcoming season.

Kicker Dominik Eberle spent time with the Packers between February and June of 2022. He played in one game for the Lions in 2022, missing two extra points before being released.

Hester was with the Packers during the summer of 2020, before being waived with an injury settlement on September 10. However, Hester’s greatest contribution to the Packers came indirectly while he was with the Eagles. Hester is best known for deflecting Cody Parkey’s potential game-winning FG that hit off both crossbars in the Bears’ wild-card loss in the 2018 season.

On the coaching side, the Sea Dragons’ defensive coordinator is Ron Zook, who previously served as the Packers special teams coordinator between 2015 and 2018. Amongst Packers fans, Zook was often an easy scapegoat, as the team’s special teams unit was consistently plagued with costly penalties, unforced errors, and general incompetence.

Zook was not retained once head coach Matt LaFleur was hired in 2019.
