Two Packers part of Pro Football Focus’ Top 101 for 2022 season
The Green Bay Packers may have had a disappointing season, but it doesn’t mean they didn’t have some great individual performances.
Pro Football Focus has released the first part of its rankings of the top 101 players from the 2022 season. So far, they have revealed the players ranked from Nos. 51-101.
Two Green Bay Packers players have made the rankings so far, cornerback Jaire Alexander and running back Aaron Jones.
Alexander is 64th in the rankings, while Jones is 85th.
In an otherwise disappointing season for the Packers, Alexander and Jones were among the few players on the team to consistently play at a high level throughout the year.
Alexander got back to his best after missing most of the 2021 season due to injury. He played in 16 games, finishing with 14 pass defenses and a career-high five interceptions.
According to Pro Football Reference, quarterbacks had a passer rating of just 63.7 when throwing in Alexander’s direction.
After another excellent season, Alexander was voted to his second Pro Bowl, while also being named a second-team All-Pro for the second time in three years.
Jones set a new career-best in rushing yards, finishing the season with 1,121 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
As ever, Jones offered plenty as a receiver, too. He set a new career-best in receptions with 59, putting up 395 yards and five receiving touchdowns.
Alexander and Jones were among the Packers’ best and most consistent players throughout the season, so they deservedly make PFF’s Top 101 this year.
With the top 50 players still yet to be revealed, it will be interesting to see whether the Packers have any more players in the PFF 101.
