This 2023 four-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers includes a blockbuster trade for Jordan Love, while getting some help for Aaron Rodgers.

Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Green Bay Packers in 2023?

Nobody knows. All we can do is guess. But it does feel that the longer this goes on, the more it seems Rodgers will be back in Green Bay.

If I were Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst, I would move on from Rodgers and begin the Jordan Love era. Maybe that happens, but there’s also every chance that Rodgers returns to Green Bay.

In that scenario, would Jordan Love request a trade? Who knows?

How could that play out for the Packers? That’s what this mock draft is here for.

Round 1 (15): Brian Branch, S, Alabama

Based on Brian Gutekunst’s comments this week, it sure sounds like changes are coming to the Packers’ secondary.

Three Packers safeties are free agents, including Adrian Amos. Gutekunst spoke about the possibility of Rasul Douglas moving to safety.

Alabama’s Brian Branch is listed as a safety, and he can certainly play there, but he spent a lot of time in college playing in the slot. And that’s the position that could make the most sense for him in Green Bay, too.

“Branch embodies the safety position, playing the game you wish every defensive back would,” wrote Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus.

The Packers could have Branch play in the slot, allowing Douglas to play on the outside or move to safety. Either way, Branch’s talent and versatility would make him the perfect addition to Green Bay’s defense.
