On Monday, Allen Lazard will be among the Green Bay Packers‘ free agents able to negotiate a new deal with any team.

The NFL’s two-day negotiation period gets underway then, allowing free agents to talk to other teams, although contracts can’t become official until the new league year on Wednesday.

As of yet, the Packers haven’t re-signed Lazard. And it seems his time in Green Bay could be coming to an end.

Unsurprisingly, his future could be linked to Aaron Rodgers’.

“Much like everybody else, Allen Lazard is waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers is going to do,” said NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Garafolo noted that Lazard “has been in touch with Rodgers recently.”

Could Lazard and Rodgers both go to the Jets?

Lazard has to make the right choice for him, but it would be absolutely no surprise if he followed Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, assuming Rodgers is traded there.

Lazard was Rodgers’ top target in 2022 and has been a key contributor for the Packers in recent years.

If Rodgers is traded to the Jets, Lazard would be a great free-agent target for New York.

He would be a complementary receiver to NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson. Rodgers would have a receiver he already has experience with, and the Jets would get a talented pass-catcher and excellent blocker.

Honestly, would it be a surprise if any one of Randall Cobb, Marcedes Lewis, Robert Tonyan, or Lazard joined Rodgers in New York? Absolutely not.

The fact the Packers and Lazard haven’t agreed on a new deal is notable. Green Bay often re-signs key free agents before the start of the new league year.

Perhaps that will happen, but it won’t be a surprise if Lazard decides to sign with Rodgers’ next team, which could very well be the Jets.
