Aaron Rodgers Watch is well and truly underway. Will he play another snap in the NFL? Where could he play?

Speculation about a move to the Los Angeles Rams had just started to heat up. The Rams reportedly gave Matthew Stafford permission to seek a trade, which would've opened the door for Rodgers to join Sean McVay's offense and chase a second Super Bowl in Los Angeles.

It would've been a perfect landing spot for Rodgers and a potential nightmare for the Green Bay Packers. It would have made the NFC playoff path tougher and may have ruined the Packers' hopes of reuniting with Davante Adams.

Earlier this month, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted that Adams would prefer to play on the West Coast, which would've made following Rodgers to Los Angeles the most logical move.

The Rams put an end to that conversation.

They have announced a new contract with Stafford, shutting the door on further trade conversations. It also eliminates a perfect landing spot for Rodgers.

What it means for Adams remains to be seen, but it leaves Rodgers without a dream destination.

Aaron Rodgers may have to pivot to underwhelming landing spot after Rams blow

With the Rams off the table, where could Rodgers play next? Well, according to several reports, there's potential interest from the *checks notes* New York Football Giants.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Giants are "shifting their interest" to Rodgers after missing out on a Stafford trade.

It follows a rumor from ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio that Rodgers had "reached out to the Giants."

Talk about an underwhelming backup plan. In Los Angeles, he would've joined an elite McVay offense, had a dominant defense backing him up, and could compete for a Super Bowl. The Giants can hardly guarantee that, a team that finished with three wins and the third overall selection this past season. It could actually be a step back from his New York Jets tenure.

It would also put Rodgers on a direct path for a showdown with the Packers at MetLife Stadium. Green Bay will visit New York at some point in the 2025 season. Get your popcorn ready.

But none of this makes much sense for either side. Why would Rodgers sign for a non-playoff team? Why would the rebuilding Giants want a 41-year-old quarterback?

Rodgers to the Rams was the perfect fit. Now, he may need to settle for the second-best team in New York.
