The Green Bay Packers' worst nightmares came true last season. Twice, in fact. Green Bay threw away two wins over the Chicago Bears, including an all-time collapse in the playoffs after leading 21-3 at halftime.
Chicago had been on fraud alert all season, requiring fourth-quarter miracles to salvage some pretty pedestrian performances. Green Bay felt the full force of that. The Bears' luck ran out in an overtime playoff exit to the Los Angeles Rams, and we can only hope that continues into 2026.
The Revenge Tour is here, and it looks like the NFL is serving up a potential Week 1 humbling for the defending NFC North champions.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Adam Schefter predicted that the Bears will take part in the season's curtain raiser on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
"My guess right now is that it will be the Bears in Seattle for the Wednesday night opener against the Seahawks," Schefter said.

Adam Schefter's Week 1 prediction is setting the Bears up for an 0-1 start
It doesn't get any tougher than that. The Packers have felt the full wrath of a season opener in front of the 12s after Seattle had just won the Super Bowl. That game came in Week 1 of the 2014 season, a 36-16 shellacking at the hands of the Seahawks. And that was a great Packers team. They advanced to the NFC Championship Game that season, but they were outclassed in a hostile environment to kick off the year.
Different season, different teams. That was over a decade ago. Sure. But the Seahawks will be a serious problem for the Bears, especially in primetime inside an electric Lumen Field.
The best part? Bears fans are excited by it. Good luck with that.
The Bears need a humbling. We're looking at you, Ben Johnson. We'll die on the hill that they had no business winning the NFC North last season. Had the Packers not thrown away a 10-point lead inside two minutes that included a Romeo Doubs botched onside kick, we could be having a completely different conversation.
Bitterness aside, we hope Schefter's prediction comes true. The Bears have the toughest strength of schedule in the NFL. They'll have to run the gauntlet, and starting that in Seattle is a surefire way to crush their momentum early.
The Bears snuck under the radar last season and relied on some fourth-quarter magic to steal the NFC North crown. Now, they have a huge target on their backs.
Roger Goodell, make Schefter's prediction come true and allow the Seahawks to humble the Bears in Week 1.
