Bears fans will cry themselves to sleep as Packers dunk on them after blocked FG

The Green Bay Packers should be thrilled that Matt Eberflus is still coaching the Chicago Bears. While he has proven to be a sharp defensive coach, he is in over his skis as a head coach due to his inability to pick a winning offensive scheme and horrendous in-game management.
Despite Jordan Love and the Packers not playing their best game while rookie Caleb Williams looked the part, Green Bay came out with a 20-19 victory in the most heartbreaking fashion for Bears fans. Chicago's field goal was blocked at the last second, giving them a fourth consecutive loss.
The Packers benefitted from some ultra-conservative game management from Eberflus. Rather than running another play to get the ball even closer to Green Bay's goal line, the Bears decided to settle for a 46-yard kick, which was promptly blocked.
Several players on the Packers' block team reportedly said they knew that kicker Cairo Santos liked to kick the ball with a very low trajectory, making it easier to be blocked. They were surprised that the Bears did not run an extra play, as bringing it closer would have made it more difficult to block the kick.
Bears fans keep suffering after Packers rub in game-winning blocked FG
With the Lions looking like Super Bowl favorites and the Vikings all but assured a Wild Card spot this season, Green Bay needed to pick up a division win against a reeling opponent, and they did just that by taking advantage of some truly laughable special teams from Chicago.
Any game the Packers can win during which Love threw a terrible interception, the defense was unable to stop a team a few days removed from changing coordinators, and the team as a whole seemed to be out of sync from the jump is a victory for Matt LaFleur, especially on the road.
The Bears are now spiraling as a result of this loss. Between Eberflus' laughable justification for that decision and the negative vibe that began with their ill-fated Hail Mary loss against the Commanders, Green Bay can relish the fact their old rivals are stuck in reverse again.
The Packers may not have the best roster in the world, but the edge they have in coaching, both with LaFleur and special teams maestro Rich Bisaccia, helps them win games like this. Bears fans will call it luck and black magic, while Packers fans call it being prepared.
