Cameron Jordan will be a one-franchise player after all. The star defensive end is reportedly rejoining the New Orleans Saints after mulling his options in free agency for months; sorry, Green Bay Packers fans.
Jordan had been open to a change of scenery, with the Packers being mentioned as a speculative landing spot. He profiled as an ideal bookend to (and insurance for) superstar Micah Parsons, who's currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered roughly six months ago. Alas, general manager Brian Gutekunst and Co. will now have to look elsewhere.
The Saints and Jordan are "putting the finishing touches on a one-year, incentive-laden deal," per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's an interesting move for several reasons, including (but not limited to) the potential fallout for Green Bay.

How the Packers proceed is worth monitoring, considering they aren't rushing Parsons back. He's even confirmed that we'll likely see him on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to start the upcoming campaign. His timeline makes bringing another pass rusher borderline imperative, and adding someone of Jordan's caliber and stature could've done wonders.
An eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, Jordan's been one of the most dominant D-linemen of his generation. He ranks second in sacks (132.0) since entering the league in 2011, trailing only future first-ballot Hall of Famer Von Miller, who notably remains unsigned.
Turning 37 in July, Jordan has shown minimal signs of slowing down. His 76.0 overall Pro Football Focus grade was good for 24th among 115 qualified edge defenders in 2025. He recorded 15 quarterback hits, 10.5 sacks and finished sixth at his position in ESPN's run stop win rate (30 percent).
Entering his 16th pro season of what's been a remarkable career, Jordan has nothing left to prove. However, he has plenty of gas left in the tank and would've given Green Bay another proven edge-rusher beyond Parsons — which they currently lack.
Who's going to step up in Parsons' absence and alongside him once he's ready to roll? Fourth-round rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton has drawn lofty comparisons and veteran Lukas Van Ness has garnered buzz in minicamp and organized team activities (OTAs). Nevertheless, there's no clear in-house answer to a massive question in Titletown.
While Jordan topped the list of names on the open market, his loyalty to the Saints won out. He's set to go for one last ride in the Big Easy. If it's any consolation to the Packers, though, there are still some worthwhile options available.
