Now that the Green Bay Packers have sliced their roster down to just 53 players ahead of the 2026 NFL season, a proper evaluation can be made of the team that Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutekunst put together. This team isn't without holes, but they still have well-founded dreams of another Lombardi.
But what if there were a way to, say, violate the laws of the universe and travel between time and space to put a Packers franchise legend on today's roster and tip the scales? With only a week until the games start, that may be tough to accomplish, but using our imagination will suffice for this exercise.
So, we've come up with a handful of players who would push Green Bay back toward the mountaintop of the football world, but one player stands out above the rest as an all-time great who would instantly make the Packers Super Bowl favorites. And his name is Charles Cameron Woodson.

Aaron Rodgers
This is not a dig at Jordan Love in the slightest. But the last time Green Bay was playing games that mattered in February, Rodgers was at the helm. And until Love takes this team there, it's pretty much impossible to argue that a prime Rodgers wouldn't also help this team reach the highest heights.
Reggie White
In the spirit of picking just one defensive end, White narrowly edged out Willie Davis. White was the Defensive Player of the Year in Green Bay, and it's hard not to salivate at the thought of him holding down the fort while Micah Parsons battles back from injury, and then the two of them uniting to terrorize opposing quarterbacks all season long. You may not even need nine other defenders.

Ahman Green
With the Josh Jacobs situation ongoing, a boost in the rushing department would be welcome. And who else would the Packers turn to but their all-time leading rusher who doubles as a weapon in the passing game? Green was perennially underrated, but LaFleur's team could use a top-flight running back at this point, and Green is the best this franchise has to offer, with an argument from Jim Taylor.
Forest Gregg
How confident are we in Jacob Monk to get the job done? Surely, not enough to turn down the help of the finest player that Vince Lombardi ever coached, allegedly. While he played a lot of tackle, Gregg also played guard, so we're going to cheat a little bit and slot him in. It's a fantasy world anyway. Get over it!! And in this fantasy world, Gregg fortifies the interior offensive line to assist the whole offense.
The one who makes them Super Bowl favorites
Charles Woodson
Woodson arguably played the best football of his career in Green Bay, and he was a pivotal part of the team's last Super Bowl run. With some combination of Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Brandon Cisse starting on the boundary this year, Woodson joining this team would be a godsend. Herb Adderley may like a word, but Woodson would be the pick to get this team over the hump.
