Chris Canty's latest quarterback rankings will get a laugh out of Packers fans

I mean, this is just ridiculous.

Jordan Love has gotten a lot of flack in recent seasons for being a bit of a Toyotathon merchant.

Yes, he performs unbelievably well during the car brand's huge sales event, posting a 91.9 passing grade, a 33:1 touchdown to interception ratio, and 31 deep completions during that span of time, per PFF. But, he's also genuinely one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC despite the Green Bay Packers' postseason record maybe not reflecting that fact.

But, as Packers fans will acknowledge, there are plenty of other issues with the team outside of Love that have attributed to their flame-outs in the postseason.

Not much optionality at wide receiver for Love, their defense dealing with numerous injuries up front, - most notably to Micah Parsons - and simply being victim to heroic ball from other squads have all contributed to their lack of postseason wins. But, to blame it all on Love feels a bit rash.

That doesn't matter to the likes of Chris Canty, though. The former NFL lineman and now-ESPN personality just gave his NFC quarterback rankings, and they're very questionable.

Canty is sure to get a laugh out of Packers fans with QB rankings

So, it does feel fair to list Stafford number one. He just won MVP for the 2025 season, and nearly got the Los Angeles Rams to the Super Bowl over the Seattle Seahawks. But...where's Sam Darnold, who literally just won the Super Bowl? Well, he sits second behind Jayden Daniels, who did not look set to take a sophomore leap last season before getting hurt.

Then, he has Jalen Hurts and Caleb Williams rounding out his top five. Hurts, who could barely generate any offense with his arm this year, is fourth. And Williams, who honestly did take some major strides this season with Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears, lands at fifth just behind him.

Not sure if you can tell from the tone of this writing, but we're not feeling very keen on this ranking.

Love posted a four touchdown, zero interception game against the Bears in the Wild Card last season, outperforming Williams on a big stage. He had an overall much greater season than Hurts, as well. It feels absurd to not have him in this ranking, even at fourth or fifth behind Stafford, Darnold, and maybe Williams.

We're talking about a quarterback who was in the conversation to get some MVP votes this year prior to dealing with some injuries and setbacks ahead of the postseason. That's who Canty has decided to leave off this ranking in favor of the potential of Daniels, Hurts, and Williams.

The disrespect continues to grow for Love, who will just continue to truck along with Green Bay and their renewed effort to take the NFC North this season.
