The Green Bay Packers have to make moves this offseason and an obvious one is to move on from offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins. Doing so can save the Packers roughly $20 million and, considering they have other needs to address, that money can help them improve as a team.
Jenkins also suffered an ankle injury last season that sidelined him for all but nine games. That makes moving on from him another somewhat easy decision for Green Bay this spring.
If Jenkins isn't with the Packers next season, where will he end up? Well, that answer seems pretty obvious if we're trying put all of the pieces together, and that team is the Arizona Cardinals.
Cardinals make sense as a landing spot for Elgton Jenkins
This makes a lot of sense because the Cardinals desperately need help on their offensive line and Jenkins can give them that. They'd be foolish not to throw their hat in the ring for his services and have the cap space to try and make it happen.
What would make this a painful destination for Packers fans is that Jenkins would be joining former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in the desert and also would be linking up with Mike LaFleur, Matt LaFleur's brother who just accepted the Cardinals head coaching job.

Jenkins, a second-round pick by the Packers in 2019, spent three years with Hackett as his offensive coordinator in Green Bay before Hackett took the Broncos head coaching job in 2022. Hackett rejoined the Packers in a defensive role this past season but he's moving back to the offensive side of the ball with his new job in Arizona, agreeing to become the Cardinals' offensive coordinator in 2026.
Jenkins has only played for the Packers in his NFL career so it'll be weird seeing him in another uniform next season but that's the nature of the NFL. It's a business and the Packers have to make the best decision for them to be able to keep building their roster so they can compete for Super Bowls.
