Fans are convinced the NFL is hiding the truth about Aaron Rodgers

TBH, I am too.

One of these days, Aaron Rodgers is going to sign with a team. And he might not, but let's be honest – he's definitely going to sign with a team. There's too much NFL attention still out there, waiting to be claimed by anyone who wants it. What better time for Rodgers to insert himself into the conversation than when there's nothing else to talk about? This man knows what he's doing.

Until then, we're all just sitting around waiting for him to pick a team from the huge pool of suiters that definitely want to pay him for one year of meh football. We're all assuming it'll be the Steelers, but it could be someone else! The Saints kinda need a QB? I'm sure there's a mystery team too, because there's always a mystery team. Fine, it'll be the Steelers. Whatever.

And even though we all know this, we live in a simulation that forces us to wait for Adam Schefter's confirmation. Even looking at the recently released NFL schedule makes it obvious that everyone's expecting Rodgers to end up in Pittsburgh – even though they swear all those juicy TV matchups have nothing to do with that.

It's just one big coincidence that we shouldn't get worked up about, duh.

The NFL definitely* has intel on Aaron Rodgers that it's not telling us

(*probably)

"Despite scheduling Steelers-Jets for Week 1 and Steelers-Packers for "Sunday Night Football" in Week 8, the NFL didn't have any inside information about Aaron Rodgers' decision when it made Pittsburgh's schedule," writes ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

"But, [NFL vice president of broadcasting and scheduling Mike] North acknowledged, the league did proactively put Steelers-Packers in the "Sunday Night Football" slot for Week 8 in part because Rodgers' decision could dramatically impact viewership and give one TV partner a significant advantage over others for that week."

At this point, would anyone even have blamed the NFL if they were just like, "yeah, we're pretty sure he's going to the Steelers and acted accordingly?" It's 2025 and the NFL makes their schedule release one of the biggest days of the offseason – at this point I don't think there's a single fan out there who would care if they leaned into the shennigans of it any more than they already do.

We'll see you in Week 8, when the Green Bay Packers play [checks roster] definitely Mason Rudolph and the Pittsburgh Steelers in primetime. Hope everyone's excited for Mason Rudolph, who will definitely be the QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers in a primetime game. Mason Rudolph.
