The Green Bay Packers finished the 2024 season in the top 10 in sacks with 45 on their résumé. While the Packers did well when it came to getting after the quarterback, they didn't do much to address their issues in that department this offseason.
It makes sense as to why considering they have Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, and Lukas Van Ness all returning for the 2025 season. While those three guys disappointed in 2024, Clark recently spoke out about how the injury he suffered in Week 1 impacted him last year but he's ready to come back stronger this year.
Even with that being the case, why not add some help to the pass-rushing crew in Green Bay? Von Miller is still available in free agency and could make a ton of sense with the Packers.
Von Miller might just be the perfect fit for Packers pass rush
Miller might be 36 years old but he's coming off a 6.0-sack season with the Bills, a team that signed him to an enormous contract in the hopes of him being what could help propel them to a Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Buffalo, that didn't work out. Miller missed time with injury in each of his three seasons with the Bills and only tallied 14 sacks in two years.
That being said, the pressure would not be as high for Miller in Green Bay because the Packers already have players they're hoping can get after the quarterback. Miller would be extra depth and he's also a guy who has experience playing in big games, winning two Super Bowls (one with the Broncos in 2015 and one with the Rams in 2021).
Miller isn't the same wrecking ball he once was during his peak years with the Broncos but he's still a very good pass-rusher and could bring a much-needed veteran mentality to the defense. Even if he only tallies six sacks with Green Bay, that'd be a welcomed addition to this group.
