The Green Bay Packers are currently dealing with a problem they probably expected. The good news is that it's one every team would love to have.
Even after moving on from Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks in the offseason, they're stacked at receiver. Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Savion Williams are locks to make the team. Skyy Moore is also trending toward getting the nod because of his return skills. That will probably leave one spot up for grabs.
Undrafted rookie J. Michael Sturdivant is making a legitimate push for that WR6 job, but Bo Melton, Will Shepard, and Isaiah Neyor are also in the mix. Of the three, Neyor may have the better chance of sticking around based on his performance in training camp.
Isaiah Neyor is making the most of his chances at Packers training camp
It isn't easy for players on the fringe to make an impression in training camp, since they get limited opportunities. But that's precisely what Neyor did on Day 7, reeling in a touchdown pass from Kyle McCord. The following day, the sophomore wideout got reps with the first team and caught a pass from Jordan Love.
Neyor has routinely come through in training camp, and he's stacking up success at practice.

The fact that Neyor could also contribute on special teams will only boost his odds of making the roster. On the other hand, as promising as he's looked, he'll need to show out in the preseason to earn a roster spot.
An undrafted free agent, Neyor signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Just a few months later, though, his stint in the Bay Area came to an end, and he signed with the Packers. The former Nebraska Cornhusker was cut before the 2025 regular season but landed on the squad. Although he was activated to the active roster late in 2025, he didn't log any snaps.

At this point, Neyor looks like a coin flip to make the roster, but Sturdivant also has a shot. On the off chance the Packers like both of them, they could carry seven receivers, but that's unlikely to happen since they could use that valuable roster spot at another position. On a related note, Lombardi Ave's own Freddie Boston has Bo Melton making the cut over both of them in his latest 53-man projection, and that possibility shouldn't be ruled out.
Worst-case scenario, Neyor will land on the practice squad for the second year in a row. The only issue is that another team could claim him, and Green Bay may not want to run the risk of losing him because of his upside.
So far, Neyor has done everything he can to turn heads, but the true test remains in the preseason. If he makes the most of his chances, he could make it impossible for the Packers not to give him a roster spot.
