After he was released by the Green Bay Packers, cornerback Jaire Alexander didn't take long to sign with a new team, the Baltimore Ravens. What also took very little time was for Alexander's father to speak out on the move.
But, while his father offered an opinion on the Ravens contract, he has also come forward and issued a warning not only to the Packers, but to the rest of the NFL -- and he didn't hold back:
“Green Bay let [Jaire] go when he was feeling his best. I promise you that he is in better condition that he’s been in since 2018. I’m saying everybody should be on notice."
Jaire Alexander's father is banking on the Packers' immediate regret in 2025
To say Alexander is in the best condition he's been in since being drafted out of Louisville is a bold statement. After multiple injuries and an inability to stay healthy as a pro, the thought of Alexander now being in the best condition of his career is a little hard to believe.
But, let's run with that notion for a second.
If he is truly in the best condition (not just "shape") of his career, then the Packers very well could regret letting him go. Now, Packer fans have a difficult time believing that Alexander's body is going to hold up over the length of an entire season at this point. He hasn't been able to do that as of late, playing in 14 out of 34 games the past two years.
Green Bay is in a difficult spot at cornerback, though, and a healthy Alexander is unquestionably their best player on the depth chart had he stuck around.
Now, the Packers have to patch holes before training camp., Maybe a Jalen Ramsey trade is on deck? Maybe not.
In any event, if Alexander proves to stay healthy this season while in Baltimore, then Green Bay might look back at this situation as one they just plain got wrong.
