Jordan Love just delivered the draft message Aaron Rodgers never would

It's no secret that Aaron Rodgers had plenty of problems with the Green Bay Packers' front office, particularly toward the end of his tenure in Titletown.

Now, we could go into every single gripe the four-time NFL MVP had during his 18-year run with the franchise, but we're thinking you might not have six or seven hours to spare. So, we'll simply stick to one specific topic for now, that being what long seemed like his annual tradition of how the Packers handled the NFL draft.

Again, we won't go into every instance in which he disagreed with what transpired at the draft, but he certainly made it known on several occasions that he was unhappy with the team never selecting a wide receiver in the first round during the duration of his time in Green Bay.

The Packers did, of course, use a first-round selection on a quarterback, taking Jordan Love with the 26th overall pick in 2020. Rodgers certainly couldn't have been happy about that, as Love was clearly brought in as his successor, just as Rodgers was taken in the first round in 2005 to be the successor to Brett Favre.

And just like Rodgers waited three years for his chance to shine, Love did the same, finally taking over after the Packers had clearly had enough of Rodgers' nonsense and shipped him to the New York Jets just ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

It obviously remains to be seen if Love can duplicate the success Rodgers had in Green Bay, a resume that includes a Super Bowl win and five trips to the NFC Championship Game, but he's off to a solid start.

In his first two years as a starter, Love actually posted better stats and a better winning percentage than Rodgers did in his first two seasons as QB1. Love also led the Packers to the playoffs both years, while Rodgers only did so once, and also won a playoff game, which No. 12 didn't do until year three.

Of course, Rodgers did win his Super Bowl in year three, so the pressure is on for Love in 2025, but you understand the overall point we're making. And as the Packers prepare to get their quarterback some additional help in the upcoming draft, Love has a far different attitude than what his predecessor did.

Jordan Love has complete faith in the Packers' front office heading into the 2025 NFL Draft

While Rodgers is currently spending his time bashing the Jets and contemplating whether to retire or join a new team, Love has been in San Diego doing private workouts ahead of OTAs, where he'll get the chance to converse with Green Bay's newest draftees.

And as far as who those players might be, Love has complete faith in what general manager Brian Gutekunst, head coach Matt LaFleur, and the other members of the Packers' staff plan to do starting on Thursday night.

"Everybody's got thoughts and opinions. The Packers do a great job. We talk with Gutey (Brian Gutekunst), the GM, and Matt (LaFleur), and we talk after the season, what directions we feel like we need to go in for next season," Love said during a recent appearance on The Up and Adams Show.

"And then I kind of just let them do their thing. They're the pros at this, at going through the draft process, interviewing all these guys, and just figuring out who's going to be a good player fit, but also just a good locker room fit for the team. That's a huge part to it, guys that come in are ready to learn and ready to compete, and be great teammates. So I kind of let them handle their business."

Well, that's a refreshing change of pace for Green Bay fans, isn't it? And speaking of a change of pace, how hilarious would it be if the Packers gave Love what they never gave Rodgers by drafting a wideout in the first round? We'll find out soon enough.
