A rematch of Super Bowl XLV. Packers vs. Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Jordan Love vs. Aaron Rodgers.
Week 8 of NBC's Sunday Night Football will feature the long-awaited duel between the Green Bay Packers' former franchise pillar and its current one. It will be the first time Rodgers plays against the team that drafted him back in 2005.
Plenty of noise will be made of Rodgers being able to beat his second former team this year after the Steelers defeated the New York Jets in Week 1.
Jordan Love has a chance to make a statement on SNF
However, this game is equally important for Love. Pittsburgh is one of the top teams in the AFC at 4-2, and Love will have the chance to overtake his predecessor.
Those two things coupled together will go a long way into quieting the constant comparisons to Rodgers and further show that Love is one of the better starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

His play through seven weeks should already be doing that, given the Packers are the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a record of 4-1-1. If anything, his last performance on Sunday Night Football should have been more than enough.
Against the Dallas Cowboys, Love completed 31 of his 43 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He also did this without one of his top receivers in Jayden Reed (eerily similar to the games when Rodgers balled out without Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson, or Randall Cobb).
Make no mistake, this game will be dominated by the history between Rodgers and the Packers. It would be an even bigger cinema experience if this were being played at Lambeau Field.
But in playing the role of spoiler, Love will have the chance to truly put the world on notice of his skill set and escape Rodgers' shadow.
The above-mentioned narratives are why this game is set for Sunday Night Football. And there truly isn't a better stage to see the master in Rodgers take on his former protégé in Love.
