Six weeks into the season, Jordan Love is clearly the best quarterback in the NFC North. Not only that, but his MVP candidacy just got a massive boost thanks to a strong showing in the Green Bay Packers' 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Love completed 66.7 percent of his throws for 276 yards with one touchdown and one interception (he also ran for a one-yard score). While those numbers don't pop off the stat sheet, they don't tell the whole story either, considering he sliced through the Dallas defense despite Green Bay's nonexistent running game.

Compounding the issue is the Packers' skill-position players combined for five drops, including three would-be touchdowns in Week 6. It didn't matter, though. Love delivered, just like he has the past few weeks.

Jordan Love has been helping the Packers win week in, and week out

When you think of the Most Valuable Player, you don't always think of the player who puts up the best stats, but rather the one who helps his team the most. Then again, those categories sometimes overlap, and Love has most definitely fit both descriptions in 2026.

Love got off to a somewhat slow start to the season, but some of that stemmed from the fact that the Packers failed to give him adequate protection. General manager Brian Gutekunst has since beefed up the offensive line, and the sixth-year quarterback — to nobody's surprise — has had a surge, completing 68.6 percent of his throws for 840 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions during Green Bay's three-game winning streak.

What makes his success even more impressive is that the Packers' running game ranks dead last in the league, and their 18 drops lead the league. Nevertheless, Love's 1,684 yards are the third most in the NFL through Week 6.

Another reason for Love's sudden emergence is that he's throwing the ball more. Last year, his 439 attempts ranked 19th in 2025. That's changed this year, though. Following the win over the Cowboys, No. 10 is sixth with 226 attempts. When you add it all up, he's quietly putting up the production to be in the MVP conversation.

The Packers need to keep winning for Jordan Love to have a shot at becoming the MVP

As good as Jordan Love has been this season — and he's been pretty darn good — he still has his work cut out for him to win MVP, but that's because he's facing top-notch competition. Josh Allen, Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes are among the frontrunners in the race. And as long as their respective teams keep winning, they'll be in the conversation.

Allen is currently the betting favorite, Purdy is second at and Mahomes is third at +650, per DraftKings Sportsbook. This begs the question: what must Love do to narrow the gap? Winning will go a long way, and fortunately for him, he's getting reinforcements sooner rather than later.

Bell cow running back Josh Jacobs is eligible to practice and play for the Packers after leaving the NFL Commissioner's Exempt List. Superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons is close to returning after tearing his ACL last year. Both are pivotal pieces who might not directly help Love in the stat sheet, but will take some pressure off his shoulders and help the Packers win.

If Love continues doing what he's done thus far, he'll most definitely be in the running for the league's most prestigious individual accolade.
