Accidental or not, these were some harsh words.

After the early postseason exit for the Green Bay Packers, it was easy for everyone and their brother to point fingers and hypothesize over just what went wrong.

Various answers and opinions might argue one area over another, but there has seemed to be a consensus narrative that is more than just fluff and it has to do with the Packers' wide receiver core.

Fans and media alike can agree that this team is in need of a real threat at the position. The depth chart has some strong talent in terms of number two or number three type receivers. But, they are still lacking that alpha performer in the room.

While fans, media and experts might agree on this sentiment, the last place you want to hear something like this said is within your own locker room. It's like when a team needs help on the offensive line (hello, Chicago). You know it to be true, as a player on that very samem team, but it's not something you're going to publicly admit while potentially throwing teammates under the bus.

At least, that holds true for some players -- not Packers running back Josh Jacobs.

Did Josh Jacobs throw his teammates under the bus with recent wide receiver comments?

When speaking to the media during the chaotic day that is Super Bowl 59 Radio Row, running back Josh Jacobs was asked about his offseason wish list for the Packers.

It was a simple question, but one that a player must navigate carefully. To say the least, Jacobs might have failed on the "careful" part.

“We need a wide receiver - a real wide receiver. Love the guys we have but we need a proven number one," Jacobs said, per Chris Simms of NBC Sports.

Now, once again, fans will agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. It is no secret that the Packers need wide receiver help.

However, these words could definitely strike a chord within some of Jacobs' teammates. As it turns out, it might have already done so.

Whether or not Jacobs intended to call out his teammates, his words were pretty blatant. He did, indeed, call out the likes of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.

The Packers' wide receiver room features four guys who all have their own special traits and talents. But, none of them possess that alpha mentality or skill set. That's just the plain and simple truth.

Will they be offended by the words? Potentially. Was Jacobs right? He sure was.
