Josh Jacobs reveals plan to recruit players to Packers after playoff loss

Maybe a certain former Packers WR? Or an All-Pro pass rusher in Vegas?

There are about a dozen different things you could blame on the Green Bay Packers' Wild Card loss on Sunday afternoon. Whether it was the once again stagnate passing offense, or the lack of a game-changing pass-rusher, or also the lack of literally any of their wide receivers, there's more than enough blame to go around Green Bay to last us through next July.

One thing about this year's Packers team is becoming even more abundantly clear in the postgame fallout: they need some capital-d Dudes. Matt LaFleur sorta, kinda hinted at that idea in his postgame press conference, saying that there'd be "lots of time for reflection" this offseason about not having enough veteran leaders on the roster this year.

And if that message wasn't obvious enough through the lens of LaFleur's unique brand of coach speak, Packers running back Josh Jacobs was kind enough to put it a little more plainly while talking to reporters in the locker room after the loss. When talking about what his offseason plan looked like, Jacobs didn't tiptoe around the fact that he'll be hitting the recruiting trail hard this spring/summer.

It sounds like Josh Jacobs is going to be the Packers' biggest recruiter this offseason

"The main thing on my mind is figuring out how to take that step," he said. "How do I help the guys take that step? But also, man, like I said, the locker room's going to be different. We've got some guys due for a contract this year, we don't know what that's going to look like or how that's going to shake out. But I know I'm going to try and get some guys here. So most definitely that."

Honestly, hell yes. If something's going to lift Packers fan's spirits today, it's probably this. Jacobs obviously knows hundreds of guys across the league, but just think for a moment about the former teammates he's played with at positions of need for Green Bay.

A bonafide star wide receiver? Davante Adams needs a new team in 2025. A game-changing edge-rusher? Maxx Crosby doesn't sound too happy with the Raiders anymore. Maybe Tyree Wilson needs a change of scenery too!

Basically, just go get the unhappiest guys in Las Vegas and give them the culture shock of their lives. The move worked out pretty well for Jacobs.
