It's been a rough start to the week for Keisean Nixon. The Green Bay Packers' kick returner was at the center of arguably one of the biggest plays of their Wild Card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, a fumbled kickoff return that – bad call aside – gifted them an easy lead that the Packers spent the rest of the night chasing down.
It was a tough moment, especially for someone like Nixon, who's been so good in that role for the team all year.

After the game, though, Nixon didn't hold back about how he sees his role as Green Bay's kickoff return developing into next season. And though I say developing, that's probably not the right word to describe how Nixon views his job in 2025.
Keisean Nixon doesn't want to return kicks for the Packers in 2025 and beyond
"I don't really want to do it no more," he told reporters during the Packers' locker room clean out on Monday. "There's going to be talks with the coaching staff and stuff like that, but I think it's over with for me. I want to be CB1. CB1 is not doing kick returns. That's just what it is."
I actually don't really blame him for saying this? I wouldn't be all that stoked to continue returning kicks if I was 24 hours removed from what happened to him on Sunday night.
Even if he did technically recover the fumble, it's not like "getting hit in the head and spotting the Eagles an easy seven points" doesn't seem like a fun time. Especially with the turnover that the Packers' secondary figures to undergo this offseason, I can't really fault Nixon for thinking he's paid his dues on kickoff.
With that being said, I dunno man, good luck with that. You're a two-time All-Pro kick returner and are on the roster in the first place in large part because of that role.
Pro Football Focus grades obviously don't tell the full story, but his coverage grades leave a bit to be desired. They're certainly not what you want to see from your CB1. But it never hurts to ask! The worst they can say is no, which they absolutely will.
