This is certainly eye-raising...

This week, the NFL Combine has been home to a multitude of talking points, rumors, conversations and narratives. It's all there, and the Green Bay Packers are a team that, to this point, hasn't been involved in anything too shocking.

Along with the ongoing Matthew Stafford saga, a handful of players have been given permission to seek a trade from their respective teams. We've heard updates on the likes of Myles Garrett (spoiler alert: the Browns have dug in their heels, for now) as well as the Packers' attempt to part with cornerback Jaire Alexander.

But now, the Packers have been tossed into an even more intriguing rumor.

As of Friday morning, one particular Seattle Seahawks reporter, Corbin Smith, took to social media and gave us an enormous potential scoop.

According to Smith, the Packers have an offer on the table for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf. The offer is said to include the Packers' first-round pick and one of Dontayvion Wicks or Romeo Doubs.

Noted Packers personality Peter Bukowski doubled-down on Smith's reporting, too, confirming that Green Bay was in talks with Seattle to try and acquire Metcalf.

A Packers-DK Metcalf trade could be influenced by the team's desire to deal Jaire Alexander

There are other rumors and rumblings out there in regards to the Metcalf rumor that insinuate a Metcalf trade could be coming because the Packers believe they will get somewhere around a Day 2 pick for Alexander.

This seems somewhat hard to believe, of course, because there are many fans who have long-believed the Packers will instead just release Alexander. If there is indeed a team willing to part with significant draft capital for a cornerback that's been unable to stay healthy in the past couple of seasons, then so be it.

Related Packers news:

Green Bay will gladly take the draft capital for Alexander, rather than outright releasing him.

Now, back to the Metcalf rumor. Is he worth a first rounder?

Metcalf is viewed as a physical specimen; big and strong but also extremely fast. However, is he good enough to be the alpha this Packers team needs among their wide receiver room?

Time will tell, but for right now, the rumors are certainly ablaze.
