The Green Bay Packers are in the middle of such a tough skid on the offensive side of the ball that even disappointing teams like the Browns and Eagles have managed to tally wins against them. Once again, Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs find themselves in a dogfight against a bottom-feeder in the two-win New York Giants.

Not only did Love have to go to the locker room early in this game with a shoulder injury, but Jacobs soon followed him inside with a knee injury. Jacobs was quickly ruled as questionable to return, which may not be the best sign for his immediate availability.

This Packers offense didn't need another injury, let alone perhaps their best individual offensive player getting banged up to such a degree that he might miss major game time.

UPDATE: Jacobs has now been ruled OUT with a knee injury

Even though Jacobs has taken a step back from his brilliant debut with the team last season, he has still managed to find the end zone 11 times on the ground in just nine games this year. Jacobs has been one bastion of consistency at a time when the offense around him has been melting down.

Emanuel Wilson would obviously be the most likely candidate to get the lion's share of the carries if Jacobs is going to miss any extended time. Not only would this take a bit out of the running game, but it could further sink this offense to the point of being unrecognizable.

Not only did Love suffer an injury so severe that Malik Willis had to briefly come into the game, but the wide receiver room consists of a struggling Romeo Doubs and a host of players who were limited in practice due to their own ailments. This Packers offense is literally the walking wounded.

Losing Jacobs for the stretch run could have a real impact on the standings, as the Packers will need to find out some way to manufacture nigh-elite production from a player while diagnosing what is up with Love and the passing offense. Matt LaFleur is not in a very enviable position right now.
