The Green Bay Packers are in a position to win the NFC North title, but that doesn't mean they will. It might take quite a lot for the Packers to come away with the division in the 2025 season. The Detroit Lions are the most talented club in the NFC North, and the Minnesota Vikings are no pushovers.
Well, Green Bay is a formidable team themselves, but from 2023 into 2024, we did not see the franchise make that leap from 'good' to 'great,' and there is absolutely concern that this front office still did not do enough for them to hit that status in 2025.
However, things can change, and perhaps regressions are on the horizon for Detroit and Minnesota. Can the Packers win the NFC North in 2025?
USA Today predicts a 12-5, NFC North title season for the Packers
If you ask USA Today with their 2025 record predictions, they do believe Green Bay is poised to win the division. They have the Packers going 12-5 and edging out the 11-6 Lions for first place.
This really isn't much of a wild prediction at all. Green Bay went from nine wins in 2023 to 11 in 2024, so another progression could be on the horizon. Furthermore, with Jordan Love entering his third year as a starter in the NFL, the possibility of a true breakout season is greater.
The predictions have the Lions going 11-6 and the Vikings going 9-8. Both records are realistic, as Detroit is already dealing with some injuries and did lose both Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson to head coaching jobs, so winning fewer games is possible.
The Vikings are also going to a de facto rookie QB in JJ McCarthy for the 2025 season, and with McCarthy set to take his first snaps in the regular season, an up-and-down, 'normal' rookie season could prevent Minnesota from replicating its 14-win season in 2024.
A 12-5, NFC North-winning season for the Packers in 2025 is on the table, and this would absolutely send the fanbase into a frenzy.
